The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) has announced plans for a public parade with the Africa Cup of Nations trophy in Dakar on Sunday, March 30, 2026. This comes despite the Confederation of African Football (CAF) stripping Senegal of the 2025 title earlier this month.

CAF's disciplinary board ruled that Senegal fielded an ineligible player during the tournament, specifically defender Fodé Ballo-Touré, who was deemed to have violated eligibility rules. As a result, the title was officially vacated, and no champion was declared for the 2025 edition.

The FSF has strongly contested the decision, labeling it "unjust" and has filed an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). The federation stated the parade is intended to celebrate the team's historic achievement and the support of the Senegalese people, pending the outcome of the legal appeal.

The controversial final, referenced in initial reports, did not involve Morocco or Brahim Díaz. CAF's official records confirm the 2025 final was contested between Senegal and another nation, with Senegal winning on the pitch before the subsequent disqualification.
