The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) has announced it will file an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) following a decision by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to disqualify its national U20 team. The disqualification relates to a 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations qualifier against Gambia.

CAF's disciplinary board ruled that Senegal fielded an ineligible player during the second leg of the qualifier, which Senegal won 2-0. As a result, CAF awarded the match to Gambia with a 3-0 forfeit score, allowing Gambia to advance to the tournament.

The FSF has contested the ruling, arguing that the player in question was eligible under the applicable regulations. The federation stated that it has exhausted all internal appeals within CAF and is now taking the matter to sport's highest legal authority in Lausanne.

The appeal process at CAS is expected to begin shortly. The outcome will determine whether Senegal's disqualification is upheld or overturned, potentially reinstating the team's place in the competition.
