The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) has announced it will file an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) against sanctions imposed by the Confederation of African Football (CAF). The dispute stems from Senegal's final 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying match against Rwanda in November 2025.

CAF sanctioned Senegal for allegedly fielding an ineligible player, defender Moussa N'Diaye, during the match. The governing body ruled that N'Diaye should have been suspended due to an accumulation of yellow cards. As a result, CAF awarded a 3-0 forfeit victory to Rwanda and imposed a fine on the FSF.

The FSF contests the decision, arguing that the player was eligible to play. In an official statement, the federation expressed its "surprise and incomprehension" at the sanction and confirmed its intention to seek a ruling from CAS to overturn the penalty. The appeal process is now underway.

The sanctions did not affect Senegal's qualification for AFCON 2025, as the team had already secured its place in the tournament prior to the match in question. The nation will still compete in the finals, which are scheduled to be held in Morocco.
