The Senegalese Judo Federation (FSJDA) announced it will send a delegation of 15 athletes to the African Cadet and Junior Judo Championships, scheduled for July 23-26, 2026, in Casablanca, Morocco. The announcement was made by the federation's technical director, as reported by Senegalese press agency APS.
The delegation includes competitors in both cadet (under 18) and junior (under 21) categories. The championships serve as a key qualifying event for the 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Dakar, Senegal, which will be held from October 22 to November 9, 2026.
Senegal has a strong tradition in judo, with several athletes previously winning medals at African and international levels. The FSJDA aims to use this competition to prepare young talents for future global events.
