The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) has filed an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) against the Confederation of African Football's (CAF) decision to award the hosting rights for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) to Morocco. The FSF announced the legal challenge on March 18, 2026, following CAF's official announcement on September 27, 2023, which confirmed Morocco as the sole bidder and host.

In a press conference, the FSF expressed its disagreement with the process, describing the decision as an "injustice" and arguing that the joint bid from Senegal, which it had submitted alongside Burkina Faso and Guinea, was not given proper consideration. The federation's president, Augustin Senghor, stated the appeal aims to ensure transparency and fairness in CAF's selection procedures.

The CAS appeal process is now underway. CAF has not issued an immediate public response to the legal filing. The 2027 tournament is scheduled to be the first 24-team AFCON hosted by Morocco since 1988.
