The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) has filed an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) following a decision by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to declare its team forfeited from a 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Morocco. The match, originally scheduled for June 2024, was postponed after a diplomatic dispute led Morocco to refuse entry to the Senegalese delegation.

CAF's Disciplinary Board ruled in February 2025 that Senegal had failed to fulfill the fixture, awarding Morocco a 2-0 victory by forfeit. The FSF contends that the circumstances of the postponement, related to geopolitical tensions, were beyond its control and that the forfeit sanction is disproportionate.

The appeal process at CAS is now underway. The outcome could impact the final standings in Group L of the AFCON 2025 qualifiers, where Morocco has already secured qualification. A hearing date has not yet been publicly announced.
