The Ottawa Senators have recalled defensemen Carter Yakemchuk and Jorian Donovan from their AHL affiliate, the Belleville Senators. The move comes after regular defensemen Thomas Chabot and Lassi Thomson left Monday's game against the Detroit Red Wings with injuries.

Chabot, a key veteran on the blue line, sustained an upper-body injury during the second period of the 4-2 loss. Thomson, who had been recalled earlier in the season, also left the game with an injury. The team has not provided specific timelines for their returns.

Carter Yakemchuk, the Senators' first-round pick (7th overall) in the 2024 NHL Draft, has recorded 8 goals and 21 assists in 58 games for Belleville this season. Jorian Donovan, a fifth-round pick in 2022, has 4 goals and 17 assists in 57 AHL games. Both are expected to be available for the Senators' next game.

The recalls provide necessary depth on defense as Ottawa continues its push late in the 2025-26 NHL season. The team's next matchup is against the Detroit Red Wings on Wednesday, March 25.
