Ottawa Senators defenceman Tyler Kleven is progressing toward a return to the ice after being sidelined with an upper-body injury. The 24-year-old has been out of the lineup since late March.
Head coach Travis Green provided an update, stating that Kleven is "getting closer" and is expected to resume skating with the team soon. His impending return would provide a boost to the team's defensive depth as they finish the regular season.
Kleven, a second-round pick in the 2020 NHL Draft, has played 35 games for Ottawa this season, recording one goal and four assists while averaging just over 14 minutes of ice time per game. His physical presence and defensive play have been noted as assets for the Senators' blue line.
