PETALING JAYA: Selangor investment, trade and mobility committee chairman Ng Sze Han has strongly condemned a social media post featuring an edited image that is offensive to the Selangor Sultan. He urged the police to take immediate action against the individual responsible for creating and sharing the image.
In a statement, Ng said the act was disrespectful to the royal institution and could threaten public order. He called on the authorities to investigate and prosecute the culprit under relevant laws, including the Sedition Act and the Communications and Multimedia Act.
This incident follows a pattern of social media users targeting Malaysian royalty, which has led to previous arrests and charges. Police have not yet announced any arrests in this case as of April 26, 2026.
