Royal Moroccan Armed Forces (FAR) have launched a large-scale search operation for two U.S. soldiers reported missing since May 2, 2026. The soldiers were participating in the African Lion 2026 joint military exercise in southern Morocco.
According to a statement from U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM), the missing personnel are assigned to a unit involved in the annual training event. The search involves Moroccan ground and air assets, as well as U.S. military resources.
