Seahawks General Manager John Schneider said this week that it was no secret that he wanted to trade down on Thursday night, but it takes two to tango and Schneider couldn't find a dance partner.
That left the Seahawks to make the 32nd and final pick of the first round in the 2026 NFL Draft, where they selected Notre Dame running back Jadarian Price. The pick was confirmed by the team's official social media account.
Price, 22, rushed for 1,152 yards and 12 touchdowns in his final season with the Fighting Irish, according to Notre Dame athletics. He is known for his explosive speed and versatility out of the backfield.
The Seahawks had been linked to several running backs in mock drafts, but Price's availability at No. 32 made him an attractive option. Schneider had expressed interest in moving down to acquire more picks, but no trade materialized.
