Netflix is developing a television series adaptation of 'The Nanny Diaries,' based on the #1 New York Times bestselling novel by Emma McLaughlin and Nicola Kraus. Scarlett Johansson, who starred in the 2007 feature film adaptation, is attached as an executive producer.
The project is in early development at Netflix, with Johansson producing alongside her These Pictures banner. The series aims to bring a fresh take on the story, which follows a young woman working as a nanny for a wealthy New York City family.
No writer, showrunner, or cast has been announced yet. The original novel was published in 2002 and became a cultural phenomenon, selling millions of copies worldwide. The 2007 film starred Johansson, Laura Linney, and Chris Evans.
