The city of Salé, Morocco, is hosting the Karacena Biennale of Circus and Travel Arts, which opened on August 23, 2026, and will run until August 31, 2026. The event combines contemporary circus performances with the promotion of Salé's architectural heritage.
According to the official program, the biennale features national and international shows presented in various historical venues across the city. The opening ceremony took place at the Bab Chaafa square, a historic gate in the medina.
Organizers highlighted the participation of circus troupes from several countries, including France, Spain, and Belgium. The program includes acrobatic performances, street theater, and workshops for local youth.
The biennale aims to position Salé as a cultural destination in the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region, while also boosting local tourism and artistic exchange.
