Saint Joseph School in Biddeford, Maine, has finalized the purchase of a new building to accommodate its expanding high school program. The school, which serves students from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade, acquired the former St. Mary's Church property on Main Street. The transaction was completed in early 2026.
The new facility will provide dedicated space for the school's high school students, who are currently housed within the main school building. School administrators stated the move is necessary to support enrollment growth and allow for future program development. The purchase was funded through a combination of capital campaign donations and financing.
Renovations are planned to convert the church building into functional classrooms and science labs. The school anticipates the new high school wing will be ready for the 2026-2027 academic year. This expansion reflects the school's long-term commitment to providing Catholic education in the Biddeford community.
