Sahara Group, an energy and infrastructure conglomerate, has commenced physical bunker supply operations in Mauritania, West Africa, following the award of a 2026 bunkering license by the Mauritanian authorities.
The company has chartered a 7,600 DWT bunker tanker to support its operations in the region. This move marks Sahara Group's entry into the West African bunker market, aiming to provide marine fuel services to vessels operating in Mauritanian waters.
The bunkering license, granted for the year 2026, allows Sahara Group to supply marine fuels directly to ships, enhancing the availability of bunker services in the port of Nouakchott and other key locations along the Mauritanian coast.
