Renaissance Sportive de Berkane (RS Berkane), a Moroccan football club, has announced it will initiate legal proceedings following the transfer of Senegalese midfielder Paul Valère Bassène to an Iraqi club. The club claims the transfer was conducted without its authorization, violating contractual obligations.
According to reports, Bassène, who joined RS Berkane in 2023, moved to Iraqi side Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya in July 2026. RS Berkane alleges that the transfer was finalized without their approval, and they are seeking compensation and sanctions from FIFA.
