Royal Air Maroc (RAM) is reportedly in talks with SpaceX to equip its fleet with Starlink satellite Wi-Fi, according to Africa Intelligence. If finalized, RAM would become the first African airline to offer Starlink's high-speed internet on board, with a target deployment by 2027.
The agreement, as reported, would cover the airline's entire fleet, providing passengers with seamless connectivity during flights. Starlink's low-orbit satellites offer lower latency and higher bandwidth compared to traditional aviation Wi-Fi, which could significantly enhance the in-flight experience.
Neither Royal Air Maroc nor SpaceX has officially confirmed the deal. However, the move aligns with a broader trend of airlines adopting satellite-based internet to meet growing passenger demand for connectivity.
If the partnership materializes, it would mark a milestone for African aviation, positioning RAM as a leader in digital services on the continent. The deployment timeline of 2027 suggests a phased rollout, likely starting with long-haul routes.
