Ross Brawn, the renowned former technical director of multiple Formula 1 teams, has made a surprising switch to MotoGP, taking on an advisory role with Pramac Racing. The announcement was made on May 26, 2026, confirming Brawn's move to the premier class of motorcycle racing.
Brawn, 71, is best known for his success with Benetton, Ferrari, and his own Brawn GP team, which won the 2009 F1 constructors' and drivers' championships. He most recently served as managing director of motorsports for Formula 1 until 2022. His new role with Pramac, a satellite team of Ducati, will focus on strategic and technical development.
Pramac Racing team manager Gino Borsoi expressed excitement about the collaboration, stating that Brawn's experience in high-level motorsport management will be invaluable. Brawn himself noted that he has long admired MotoGP and looks forward to contributing to the team's growth.
The move marks a rare crossover between Formula 1 and MotoGP, two of the most prestigious motorsport disciplines. Brawn's appointment is effective immediately, and he will begin working with Pramac ahead of the 2026 MotoGP season.
