Rico Flores Jr., a former four-star recruit who began his college career at Notre Dame and later played at UCLA, has joined the Virginia football program, according to multiple reports. The move adds depth to a Cavaliers wide receiver room that has undergone significant turnover in recent seasons.
Flores, a 6-foot-1, 198-pound receiver from Norwalk, California, appeared in 12 games for UCLA during the 2024 season, recording 12 receptions for 187 yards and one touchdown. He entered the transfer portal following the season and committed to Virginia.
Virginia's passing attack in 2025 relied heavily on a few key targets, and the coaching staff has prioritized adding experienced playmakers through the portal. Flores brings Power Four experience and familiarity with high-level competition.
He is expected to compete for snaps immediately when the Cavaliers open the 2026 season. Virginia has not yet released an official depth chart.
