Real Madrid confirmed the arrival of defender Ibrahima Konate from Liverpool on Thursday, June 18, 2026, on a four-year deal at the end of his contract at Anfield.
Los Blancos and centre-back Konate reached an agreement for him to become a Real Madrid player for the next four seasons, the club announced in a statement. The transfer was completed as a free transfer following the expiration of Konate's contract with Liverpool.
Konate, 27, joined Liverpool from RB Leipzig in 2021 and made over 100 appearances for the Premier League club. He was part of the Liverpool squad that won the FA Cup and League Cup in 2022.
