Paris Saint-Germain has advanced to the UEFA Champions League semifinals after a 1-0 victory over Liverpool at Anfield on Tuesday night. The result gave PSG a 3-0 aggregate win, following their 2-0 first-leg triumph at the Parc des Princes last week.
The only goal of the match came in the 53rd minute from forward Kylian Mbappé, who capitalized on a defensive error to score. Liverpool, despite dominating possession and creating several chances, was unable to break down a disciplined PSG defense led by captain Marquinhos.
The match was played in difficult conditions with persistent rain at Anfield. Liverpool's best opportunity fell to Mohamed Salah in the 75th minute, but his shot was saved by PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.
With this victory, PSG reaches the Champions League semifinals for the first time since the 2020-2021 season. They will learn their next opponent in Friday's draw.
