Pratt & Whitney, a subsidiary of Raytheon Technologies, officially inaugurated its new aircraft engine assembly plant in Casablanca, Morocco, on April 23, 2026. The facility is located at the Casablanca Technopark and represents an investment of approximately $200 million.
The plant will focus on assembling the PW800 and PW1000G geared turbofan engines, which power a range of commercial and business aircraft. The Moroccan government has supported the project as part of its strategy to develop a local aerospace industry.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Moroccan Minister of Industry and Trade Ryad Mezzour, along with senior executives from Pratt & Whitney. The facility is expected to create around 200 direct jobs initially, with plans to expand as production ramps up.
This marks Pratt & Whitney's first engine assembly plant in Africa, underscoring the continent's growing role in global aerospace supply chains. The plant is designed to meet increasing demand for fuel-efficient engines in the region and beyond.
