Portugal has been named the guest of honor for the 16th edition of the International Agriculture Show in Morocco (SIAM), scheduled for April 28 to May 3, 2026, in Meknes. This announcement was confirmed by the show's official organizers and the Portuguese government.
The designation underscores the deepening agricultural and economic partnership between Portugal and Morocco. Bilateral trade in agricultural and food products has seen significant growth in recent years, with Portugal exporting cereals, olive oil, and fruits to Morocco, while importing Moroccan vegetables and fruits.
As the honored guest, Portugal will have a prominent pavilion showcasing its agricultural technologies, research, and flagship products. The event is expected to facilitate new trade agreements and partnerships between Portuguese and Moroccan companies, farmers, and institutions.
The SIAM is one of Africa's largest agricultural exhibitions. Portugal's participation as the guest of honor follows other European nations like Spain and Italy, highlighting the strategic importance of the Moroccan market and regional agricultural cooperation.
