Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday called for a fact-based debate as the Monsoon Session of Parliament commenced, emphasizing India's economic growth and reform agenda. Speaking at the start of the session, Modi urged lawmakers to focus on constructive discussions backed by verified data.
Modi highlighted India's economic performance, noting that the country has emerged as one of the fastest-growing major economies. He pointed to recent reforms aimed at boosting investment, infrastructure, and digitalization, which have contributed to sustained growth.
The Prime Minister also stressed the importance of parliamentary debates being grounded in facts, especially in an era of misinformation. He called for a collaborative approach to address key issues facing the nation, including economic challenges and social development.
The Monsoon Session, which runs from July 20 to August 11, is expected to discuss several key bills, including those related to economic reforms and social welfare. The government has listed 30 bills for consideration during the session.
