Oneil Cruz drove in the go-ahead run with a double in the seventh inning, and Spencer Horwitz added a solo home run as the Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the Toronto Blue Jays 5-4 on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at PNC Park, avoiding a three-game sweep.
Cruz's double scored Ke'Bryan Hayes, who had singled earlier, to break a 4-4 tie. Horwitz's homer, his 12th of the season, came in the second inning and gave the Pirates an early lead. The Blue Jays tied the game in the top of the seventh on a two-run double by Vladimir Guerrero Jr., but Cruz responded in the bottom half.

The win improved the Pirates to 28-22, while the Blue Jays fell to 24-26. The series was the first meeting between the two teams since 2023.
