MUAR, June 28 β Pakatan Harapan (PH) is committed to advancing its youth agenda in the 16th Johor state election by translating young peopleβs aspirations into meaningful representation through a slate of credible young candidates, said PH communications director Fahmi Fadzil.
Speaking at a press conference in Muar today, Fahmi confirmed that PH will field its youngest candidate in the upcoming polls, though he did not disclose the candidate's name or age. He emphasized that the move is part of a broader strategy to engage younger voters and address issues such as education, employment, and housing.
The 16th Johor state election is expected to be held within the next few months, with the current term of the state assembly expiring in 2027. PH aims to present a mix of experienced and fresh faces to appeal to a diverse electorate.
Fahmi also noted that PH has been conducting youth-focused outreach programs across Johor to gather feedback and build trust among first-time voters. The coalition hopes to increase youth voter turnout, which has been a concern in previous elections.
