NEW YORK CITY — Consul General Senen T. Mangalile and Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Enrique A. Manalo led personnel of agencies in the Philippine Center in New York in a flag-raising ceremony on June 12, 2026, marking the 128th anniversary of Philippine independence.
The ceremony, held at the Philippine Center on Fifth Avenue, included the singing of the national anthem and the recitation of the Panunumpa sa Watawat (Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag). In his remarks, Consul General Mangalile emphasized the importance of unity and service to the Filipino community abroad.
Ambassador Manalo highlighted the continued collaboration between the Philippine Mission to the UN and the Consulate General in serving overseas Filipinos and promoting Philippine interests. The event was attended by staff from both offices and members of the Filipino-American community in New York.
