Former federal opposition leader Peter Dutton has been appointed to the board of the Queensland Investment Corporation (QIC). The appointment was confirmed by the Queensland government, led by Premier Steven Miles, on April 10, 2026.
QIC is a state-owned investment manager that manages funds for the Queensland Government and other institutional clients. The board appointment is for a three-year term, effective immediately.
In a statement, Queensland Treasurer Cameron Dick said the appointments brought significant experience to the QIC board. Former state Labor MP Michael Choi was also appointed as a director alongside Mr. Dutton.
Peter Dutton, the current federal Member for Dickson, served as Leader of the Opposition from May 2022 until the 2025 federal election. His appointment to the state government board has drawn attention due to his prominent federal political role.
