PITTSBURGH β Connor Dewar, Kris Letang and Elmer Soderblom scored as the Pittsburgh Penguins avoided elimination for the second time in 48 hours with a 3-2 win over the Philadelphia Flyers in Game 5 of their first-round series on Monday night.
The Penguins, who trailed the series 3-0, have now won two straight games to send the series back to Philadelphia for Game 6. Sidney Crosby had two assists in the victory.
Goaltender Tristan Jarry made 28 saves for Pittsburgh, while the Flyers' Samuel Ersson stopped 24 shots. The Flyers had taken a 2-1 lead in the second period before the Penguins rallied with two unanswered goals.
Game 6 is scheduled for Wednesday night in Philadelphia.
