The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) disclosed on Saturday, April 25, 2026, that it has activated a new internal body to investigate irregularities and pursue cases against erring personnel.
PCG spokesperson Commodore Noemie Cayabyab said the Probity Assurance Team (PAT) will handle cases involving misconduct, corruption, and other violations. The unit is part of the PCG's internal affairs service.
The PAT will conduct fact-finding investigations and recommend appropriate actions, including administrative or criminal charges. Cayabyab emphasized the unit's role in ensuring accountability and integrity within the PCG.
