Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-Ga.) on Wednesday criticized President Trump's aides, particularly Natalie Harp, for acting as a "security blanket" that shields the president from accountability. His remarks came after The New York Times reported that Harp once wrote a fawning letter to Trump signed, "With all my heart, Natalie."
Ossoff, who has been vocal in his oversight role, said such aides enable the president's behavior rather than provide honest counsel. "They're not serving the country; they're serving his ego," Ossoff said during a Senate hearing.
The Times report detailed Harp's close relationship with Trump, including her role in relaying his messages and her presence at key moments. Harp, a former White House aide, has been described as one of Trump's most loyal defenders.
Trump's allies have dismissed the criticism, saying Harp's dedication is a positive trait. The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
