In the Orne department of Normandy, a group of students is preparing a fundraising hike to secure their spot in the 2027 4L Trophy. The 4L Trophy is an annual humanitarian and educational rally-raid for students, driving Renault 4L vehicles from France to Morocco. The event, scheduled for February 2027, supports the Enfants du Désert charity.
The team's primary challenge is financial, with participation costs estimated at several thousand euros per crew. To cover expenses for their vehicle, equipment, and entry fees, they have planned a multi-day sponsored walk through the Orne region. This initiative mirrors common fundraising methods used by participants of the event.
Proceeds from their fundraising efforts will also contribute to the rally's humanitarian mission. Since its inception, the 4L Trophy has delivered over 100 tons of school supplies and sports equipment to children in southern Morocco and funded the construction of several schools.
The students aim to complete their hike in the coming months, combining physical challenge with community engagement to achieve their goal of reaching the start line in 2027.
