Siaya Governor James Orengo has dismissed reports that he and his entourage were chased away from the burial of Mzee Eliud Nyikal Okaka in Seme Constituency, terming the claims as misleading and inaccurate.
In a statement posted on his X account, Orengo clarified that he attended the funeral to pay his last respects and left after the ceremony concluded. He said the reports circulating on social media were false and aimed at tarnishing his reputation.
Orengo urged the public to ignore the rumors and respect the family of the deceased during their time of mourning. He did not provide further details about the incident.
