A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Aoi Baxter, a One Nation candidate for the South Australian seat of Waite, after he failed to appear at a UK court to face a charge of sexual touching. The warrant was confirmed by the Crown Prosecution Service.

The charge relates to an alleged incident in London in 2023. Baxter, a British national who moved to Australia, was due to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court but did not attend, leading to the issuance of the warrant.

One Nation leader Pauline Hanson stated she was unaware of the charge or warrant when Baxter was preselected. She has since called for him to withdraw his candidacy, citing the seriousness of the allegations.

The development comes ahead of the South Australian state election. Baxter has not publicly commented on the warrant or the charge. UK authorities have confirmed the warrant remains active.
