Morocco's national railway operator, ONCF, is participating in the 15th edition of InnoTrans, the international trade fair for transport technology, which opened on Tuesday in Berlin. The event, held from September 22 to 25, 2026, brings together global leaders in rail innovation.
At its pavilion, ONCF is showcasing major development projects, including the extension of the high-speed rail line from Kenitra to Marrakech. This 430-kilometer extension, scheduled to enter service in 2029, will connect Tangier to Marrakech in under three hours. The project is part of Morocco's broader effort to modernize its rail network and prepare for the 2030 FIFA World Cup, which it will co-host with Spain and Portugal.
The ONCF stand features interactive displays and scale models of the new high-speed trains, including the Alstom Avelia Horizon trains ordered for the extension. The operator also highlights its commitment to sustainable mobility, with plans to power the network with renewable energy.
InnoTrans 2026, held at Messe Berlin, focuses on digitalization, sustainability, and the future of mobility. ONCF's participation underscores Morocco's ambition to become a regional leader in rail transport and to attract international partnerships.
