According to multiple reports, the Edmonton Oilers are considering adding forward Mason Marchment to their roster when NHL free agency begins on July 1, 2026. Marchment, 31, is coming off a season with the Dallas Stars where he recorded 15 goals and 25 assists in 72 games.
Marchment, known for his physical play and ability to score near the net, could provide depth scoring for the Oilers, who are looking to bolster their forward group after a playoff run. The 6-foot-4, 205-pound winger has 97 points in 241 career NHL games with the Florida Panthers and Stars.
However, the Oilers face salary cap constraints, with approximately $8.5 million in projected cap space, per CapFriendly. Marchment's previous contract carried a $4.5 million annual cap hit, and he may seek a similar or higher deal on the open market.
