Morocco's OCP Group and U.S.-based Koch Industries have announced the formation of a new joint venture, Jorf Fertilizers Company (JFC), which will combine their existing assets at the Jorf Lasfar industrial platform in Morocco. The agreement, announced on July 18, 2026, builds on a previous partnership established in 2022, when Koch acquired a 50% stake in Jorf Fertilizers Company III, which was subsequently renamed Kofert.
The new entity, JFC, will oversee the operations of JFC I, JFC II, and JFC III (Kofert), which together produce a range of fertilizers including ammonia, phosphoric acid, and NPK blends. OCP will hold a 50% stake in the joint venture, with Koch holding the remaining 50%. The deal is expected to enhance production efficiency and expand market access for both companies.
OCP, a global leader in phosphate-based fertilizers, and Koch, a diversified industrial conglomerate, have a long-standing relationship. The 2022 investment in Kofert was a precursor to this broader collaboration. The joint venture is subject to regulatory approvals and is expected to close by the end of 2026.
