Ocean City High School's girls lacrosse team captured their fifth consecutive Cape-Atlantic League (CAL) championship on May 21, 2026, defeating Mainland Regional 12-8 at Ocean City's Carey Stadium.
The No. 3 seeded Red Raiders (17-2) used a strong second-half performance to pull away from the No. 5 Mustangs (14-5). Senior attacker Kelsey Maxwell led Ocean City with four goals and two assists, while junior midfielder Ava Gallagher added three goals.
Mainland Regional kept the game close in the first half, trailing 6-5 at halftime. However, Ocean City's defense tightened in the second half, limiting the Mustangs to just three goals. Goalkeeper Riley Fenton made 10 saves for the Red Raiders.
This marks Ocean City's fifth straight CAL title, extending their dynasty in the conference. The Red Raiders have now won 15 of their last 16 games overall.
