ODM party leader Oburu Oginga has called on party supporters to remain united to retain and grow its political influence ahead of the 2027 General Election. Speaking at the burial of Mama Doris Okello, mother of Nyando MP Jared Okello, in Nyando, Oburu emphasized that unity is key to victory.
Oburu, who is also the brother of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, urged party members to avoid divisions that could weaken the party's position. He noted that the ODM party has a strong base in Nyanza and other regions, but unity is essential to counter political rivals.
The burial ceremony was attended by several ODM leaders and supporters, who echoed Oburu's call for unity. The 2027 General Election is expected to be highly competitive, with ODM aiming to retain its influence in the coalition government.
