The University of Notre Dame women's basketball team advanced to the Elite Eight of the NCAA tournament on Saturday, March 28, 2026, with a 76-70 victory over Vanderbilt University in a Sweet 16 matchup. The game was played at the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon, as part of the Portland 4 Regional.

Notre Dame guard Sonia Citron led all scorers with 25 points, while forward Kylee Watson added 18 points and 10 rebounds. Vanderbilt was led by Iyana Moore, who scored 22 points. The Fighting Irish built a significant lead in the third quarter and held off a late Vanderbilt rally to secure the win.

With the victory, Notre Dame improved its season record to 31-5 and will face the winner of the game between the University of Southern California and the University of Connecticut in the regional final on Monday, March 30. Vanderbilt's season ends with a record of 25-10.
