Chinese automotive components manufacturer Ningbo Gaofa Automotive Control System Co., Ltd. has announced plans to establish its first overseas industrial base in Morocco. The company, listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, specializes in automotive control systems and components.
The project, confirmed in early May 2026, involves the construction of a production facility in the Tangier Automotive City free zone. The plant will manufacture parts for electric and conventional vehicles, targeting both local and export markets.
Ningbo Gaofa's investment aligns with Morocco's strategy to become a major automotive hub in Africa. The country already hosts plants from Renault, Stellantis, and numerous suppliers. The new factory is expected to create several hundred jobs and begin production by late 2027.
