Nine members of a family, including six children, were killed when their car plunged into a water-filled well in Maharashtra's Nashik district. The accident occurred late on Thursday night in the village of Pimpalgaon Bahula, Taluka Sinnar.

According to police and rescue officials, the victims were returning from a family outing. Their car reportedly veered off a narrow road and fell into an open, 40-foot-deep well around 1:00 AM. The vehicle was submerged in approximately 15 feet of water.

Local villagers alerted authorities after hearing a loud splash. A joint rescue operation involving police, fire brigade, and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) personnel recovered the bodies. The deceased have been identified as residents of Nashik city.

Police have registered a case and are investigating the exact cause of the accident. Preliminary reports suggest poor visibility on the narrow village road may have been a factor. The well did not have a protective barrier.
