This figure was confirmed by industry leaders at the recent PartnerPlus Connect 14.0 event in Lagos, hosted by travel consolidator Finchglow Travels.
ADMs are penalties or invoices issued by airlines to travel agencies for various infractions, most commonly related to ticketing errors, fare rule violations, or refund processing mistakes. The complex and frequently changing nature of airline fare rules was cited as a primary driver of these costly penalties for local agencies.
The forum highlighted the ongoing financial strain these memos place on the travel sector's operational viability. Stakeholders called for greater clarity and standardization in airline pricing and ticketing procedures to reduce the high incidence of errors leading to ADMs.
