Nigerian filling stations have reduced petrol prices to attract patronage, according to a market survey by DAILY POST on Thursday, May 7, 2026. NIPCO, Eterna and Mobil filling stations in Abuja dropped their petrol price to N1,350 per litre, down from previous rates.
The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) reacted to the development, stating that the price reduction reflects market dynamics and competition among marketers. IPMAN officials noted that the move aims to boost sales amid lower demand.
Other filling stations in the Federal Capital Territory are expected to adjust prices in response to the reduction. The price cut comes as Nigeria continues to grapple with fuel subsidy reforms and fluctuating global oil prices.
