World No. 1 Nelly Korda fired a 7-under 65 on Friday to build a two-shot lead after the second round of the LPGA Tour's Ford Championship. The round at Seville Golf and Country Club in Gilbert, Arizona, moved her to 13-under 131 for the tournament.
Korda, who won the previous week's Fir Hills Seri Pak Championship, is seeking her third consecutive LPGA Tour victory. She carded seven birdies in a bogey-free performance to separate herself from the field.
South Korea's Kim Sei-young and Australia's Sarah Kemp are tied for second place at 11-under par. A large group of players, including former world No. 1 Lydia Ko, sits a further stroke back.
The Ford Championship is a 72-hole event with a $2.25 million purse. The third round will be played on Saturday.
