The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced that aspirants seeking to contest for the party’s presidential ticket ahead of the 2027 general elections will pay a total of ₦60 million for its Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms.

According to the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Chinedu Okoro, the decision was reached during the National Working Committee meeting held on May 12, 2026, in Abuja. The fee covers both the Expression of Interest form at ₦10 million and the Nomination form at ₦50 million.

The NDC also released its primary election timetable, indicating that the sale of forms will commence on June 1, 2026, and close on July 31, 2026. The party’s presidential primary election is scheduled for September 15, 2026.

Okoro stated that the party aims to ensure a transparent and credible process, with all aspirants given equal opportunity to contest. He added that the party would also conduct screening and appeals before the primaries.
