FC Nantes manager Vahid Halilhodžić has been handed a four-match touchline ban by the French Football Federation's disciplinary committee. The sanction follows his expulsion during Nantes' 2-0 Ligue 1 defeat to Stade Brestois on April 12, 2026.
The incident occurred in the 90th minute of the match at the Stade Francis-Le Blé. Halilhodžić was shown a red card for entering the field of play to protest a decision by the referee, an action that constitutes serious misconduct under league regulations.
The suspension means Halilhodžić will be absent from the technical area for Nantes' upcoming league matches against Clermont Foot, Olympique Lyonnais, RC Strasbourg, and AS Monaco. His ban is effective immediately.
This is not the first disciplinary issue for the Bosnian coach this season. The committee's decision underscores the federation's stance on maintaining respect for officials and match protocols.
