MWANZA: In an exclusive interview with our Mwanza-based reporter, Nashon Kennedy, Mwanza Regional Traffic Officer (RTO) Mr Sunday Ibrahim discussed key issues that drivers should observe while on the road. The interview, conducted last week, focused on enhancing road safety in the region.
Mr Ibrahim emphasized the importance of adhering to traffic rules, including speed limits, proper use of seat belts, and avoiding distracted driving. He noted that many accidents in Mwanza are caused by reckless driving and non-compliance with regulations.
The RTO also highlighted the need for regular vehicle maintenance, such as checking brakes, tires, and lights, to prevent breakdowns and accidents. He urged drivers to be vigilant, especially during rainy seasons when roads are slippery.
