A motorcyclist in his 50s has died following a single-vehicle collision near Dublin's Strawberry Beds, according to Gardaí. The incident occurred shortly before 4:30 a.m. on July 29, 2026, on the R109 Lower Road, Strawberry Beds, Lucan, Dublin.
The motorcyclist was treated at the scene by emergency services but was pronounced dead a short time later. His body has been removed to the Dublin City Morgue, where a post-mortem examination is expected to take place.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dash-cam footage who was traveling on the R109 Lower Road between 4:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. on July 29 to contact Lucan Garda Station at 01 666 7300, the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.
The road was closed for a time to allow for a forensic examination by Garda collision investigators but has since reopened to traffic.
