Former Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has stated that the 20,000 liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders distributed to residents of Ol Kalou Constituency will be refilled at retail shops designated by the National Oil Corporation (NOCK) in the area. The announcement was made in a statement issued on July 18, 2026.
Kuria emphasized that the initiative aims to ensure continuous access to clean cooking energy for households in the constituency. The cylinders were initially distributed as part of a government program to promote the use of LPG and reduce reliance on charcoal and firewood.
According to Kuria, the refilling will be done at NOCK retail outlets within Ol Kalou, with the corporation ensuring affordable prices. He urged residents to take advantage of the service and avoid using unlicensed gas dealers for safety reasons.
The former CS also called on the national government to support the expansion of LPG infrastructure in rural areas to enhance energy access. The program is part of broader efforts to achieve universal access to clean cooking solutions by 2030.
